A program that moves forward with you, step by step.
No clinical tables, no jargon. Here's how the program works, in plain terms.

Initial evaluation
The cardiologist reviews your history and current condition to build a plan based on where you are today, not a generic template.
Supervised sessions
Guided exercise in the clinic, with your heart rate, blood pressure, effort, and heart rhythm checked at every session.
Ongoing adjustment
Your plan changes as you progress: what you did last week informs what comes next this week.
Follow-up between appointments
Your team follows your progress outside of your session day too, not only while you're at the clinic.
When does this program apply?
After a heart attack
Supervised recovery following an acute cardiac event.
After heart surgery
Gradual return to exercise with medical supervision.
With a diagnosis of coronary disease
Exercise management as part of treatment for coronary disease.
To prevent chronic disease
Conditions such as heart attacks, diabetes mellitus, peripheral artery disease, cancer patients, among others.
For people who want to improve their cardiac condition
For people who want their exercise to be evidence-based and supervised by health professionals.
Sports cardiology for athletes
Cardiopulmonary exercise testing with gas exchange measurement, the global standard for elite athletes.
What follow-up between sessions actually means
Recovering from a cardiac event doesn't happen only during the hour you spend at the clinic. Between one session and the next, your team reviews how you've been responding to exercise and adjusts what comes next before your next appointment, instead of waiting until you're back to notice a change. That way, every session starts from real information about how you're progressing, not from a fixed plan written once at the beginning.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral from my cardiologist to start?
It isn't required. At your initial evaluation, the cardiologist reviews your medical history and test results to decide whether the program is right for you. If you already have a treating cardiologist, please bring your recent test results; we can coordinate with them when needed.
How long does the program last?
It depends on your condition and your goals. The cardiologist sets the number of sessions at your initial evaluation and adjusts it as you progress. The program is typically at least 20 sessions.
How many sessions per week, and how long is each one?
At least one session per week, depending on your condition and availability. Most sessions last one hour.
Is it safe to exercise after a heart attack or heart surgery?
Supervised exercise is part of the recommended treatment after a cardiac event. At every session your heart rate, blood pressure and level of effort are checked, and the intensity is adjusted to how you respond. The cardiologist decides when the right time is for you to start.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Comfortable clothes, athletic shoes, your recent test results (for example an echocardiogram, a stress test or lab work) and a list of the medications you currently take.
